Some of the subjects we cover

Each subject is covered using a learning program that contains all the content you need and is led by your personally matched tutor

Mathematics Year 4

Students' facility with numerical operations and patterning and factions increases. Not only are they expected to consolidate their knowledge of times tables, they are starting to apply their multiplication skills to increasingly complex problems. Their spatial and temporal understanding develops to enable greater understanding of 3D shapes and maps, simple timetables, and they have a clearer understanding of the role of chance in statistics and probability.

English Year 4

Students learn about complex language features, varied sentence structures and expand their vocabulary. Their reading fluency increases, with greater ability to recognise high-frequency sight words and decode unfamiliar words phonically. Their own texts demonstrate progressive control over language for meaning and effect.

Convenient
★★★★★
Cluey has provided us with a convenient way for our year 4 son to build confidence in Maths and English. His tutors are so patient and understanding and reports are received almost immediately his session ends.

My 10yo daughter needed some help revisiting and really understanding some foundation concepts in Maths & English from year 4. I researched different tutoring options and trialled a couple. The one we stuck with was Cluey. My daughter likes both of her tutors and keenly sets up her working space prior to each session. She is finding it difficult but preserving with the tutore much more than she would when I've tried to help. The tutors are so patient and kind and encouraging. I really like the online system for the sessions, but also the reports and homework in The Hib. Every interaction I've had on the phone with the Customer Experience team has been great. I'd highly recommend Cluey, great investment in your child's education!

Cluey's (Maths) program is great! Initially I was not sure how my daughter (year 4) will respond to Cluey but after the first session she was already excited for the next session. While the program is structured to quickly pace through key concepts, matching my child with an appropriate group (2-3 kids per group so far) was probably the most critical piece they achieved easily. All sessions are recorded which makes returning to the concepts covered and issues that arose during the live session to be revised/reviewed more easily. Sometimes the online experience struggles when a kid has incorrectly placed mic/speaker but the online platform itself is very easy to understand - especially after my child had to spend the time schooling online from home during the pandemic! I think it would be useful if they provide more homework (currently my daughter only had 6 follow-up questions to work through) but I can work out what concepts they are addressing so I can create similar questions for her too. They have an excellent customer service team who action our requests and queries promptly and professionally.

Great learning experience
★★★★★
I was looking for tutoring to support a Year 11 and now Year 12 studies. We have been matched with good tutors for both math and english. The systems are great and allow parent to make sure sessions are effective, swapping and pausing is easy and very flexible. I was reluctant for an online forum however convinced now by the service offered and convenience of being able to books sessions (without the drop/off and pickup runaround!). Like any service like this, it all relies on the Tutor your student is matched with - we had a substitute tutor for one session and their communication style was different so not as conducive to my student's learning style. The system provides for you to swap out a tutor if its not working out. We are happy to the first match of tutors provided - just more cautious if we are being offered a substitute in future. Overall very happy with the service and we will be continuing this year.

My oldest daughter loves her private sessions with her tutor, she enjoys the interactive experience with her tutor who is very patient and encouraging! She looks forward to her weekly sessions and her 'homework' assignments - all of which she does not approach it as a chore! Her younger sister is in Year 2 and is also enrolled in the Cluey program and enjoying her experience too. *Minor comment - would very much like Cluey to provide a 'Family Discount' hourly rate rather than 10 sessions pack. Started since Year 4 (2021) with Cluey Currently Year 5 (2022)

Extra boost of confidence
★★★★★
My son is lost in the system. He is that good child that they do not see. We started Cluey a few weeks back. I love the flexibility of doing it in our own home. The maths tutor gets it. He gets my son to work through the problems and figures out where he is making mistakes. They work back through the problem to fix it. My son than works on other similar problems that he does not get. Our tutor works with my son on the deficits in his maths knowledge. Having one on one allows my son to work on his individual needs.
