In Year 7, students might be engaging with novels and newspapers, poems and plays, digital media and dreamtime stories. It’s important to the Cluey Education Team that every learner feels confident in their understanding and ready to tackle any assignment. We have an ever-expanding bank of resources as well as units ready to support creative and persuasive writing – plus grammar and spelling to give that final polish.

Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Sanika
VIC Teacher
English: Primary & Secondary
Sanika is a qualified Teacher, holding a Bachelor of Teaching and has been working as a Teacher from 2016. She also has experience as a Teacher's Aide and Student Teacher as part of her university studies. She has also tutored years 7 and 8 and Primary students with their Literacy and Numeracy. Sanika's philosophy on education is that learning takes place at every opportunity that arises, and that curiosity should not be stifled in a student who is eager to learn. Her aim is to teach, mentor and assist students to reach their full potential, achieve personal goals, and nurture their learning so that they can become independent and diligent individuals.

VIC Teacher

Lobna is currently studying a Masters in Special Education, having already completed a Diploma of Education (Secondary). She has been teaching for 10 years, mainly in Humanities and English. Lobna has a passion for helping students achieve academic success.

SA University Student (Bachelor of Arts (Honours))

Aden completed his Bachelor of Arts Honours in English and Creative Writing in 2020. He has helped peers with their studies during high school and university. Aden's vision is to focus on providing a safe and positive learning environment that is engaging and inspires students of all learning levels and abilities to learn and engage with their education.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)

During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
