Year 5 Maths
The numbers skills of students in Year 5 should allow them to apply place value in digits of any number and demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of number patterns and fractions. They are dealing with more challenging multiplication problems, including using the formal algorithm, and calculating amounts of money using percentages. Their appreciation of space and time is becoming more subtle and abstract.

Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
Maths Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Cluey's Primary Mathematics learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core numeracy skills, including times tables in the early years, and fractions, decimals, percentages, angles and simple algebra in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.

Kim is a qualified Teacher with 9 years of casual and full time teaching experience. She also has 15 years of tutoring experience, including Primary students, Secondary English students up to Year 12 and Secondary Mathematics students up to Year 10. Nadiesharni completed her Bachelor of Nutrition Science (Scholars Program) in 2020 at Monash University, going on to then commence her Masters of Dietetics. During her time at university she has been a peer mentor, has helped family and friends, primarily in primary subjects and has tutored first year undergrad students in Nutrition. She has also completed a volunteer placement to teach children about food and nutrition. Nadiesharni is excited to share her knowledge and help her students enjoy and excel in their studies.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?

During the session
