Year 9 English
In Year 9, students will be engaging in higher order reasoning and increasing abstraction. It’s a great chance for students to consider their own position in the world as a creator and responder. The Cluey Education Team is ready to support them at every stage, with units for essays, oral presentations, creative and persuasive writing, as well as spelling, syntax and grammar. Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Based on the Australian National Curriculum for Years 7-10, Cluey’s approach to secondary English focuses on developing students' literacy skills with in-depth studies of Shakespeare and essay structure in the early years, and deeper analysis of different texts and topics in Years 9 and 10. Our personalised approach gives you the opportunity to focus on areas you find challenging and maximise your understanding of each topic.

Justin has been teaching for the past 25 years, mainly in High Schools. He completed his Bachelor of Economics in 1988 through the University of Queensland and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education in 1994 also through the University of Queensland. Between 2001 and 2020 he has been working with-in Special Education and has taught mainly Mathematics and English to Years 7 to 10. Justin enjoys being part of his students' learning journey.

Daniel has plenty of tutoring experience in online English as a Second Language, English, Mathematics and Chemistry with both adults and children. He has also taught TAFE and High School students, and taught English in schools in Korea and Taiwan. In 1982 he completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Engineering). Daniel is a positive and encouraging Tutor who gives practical help to his students to master the skills they need to succeed.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?

During the session
