Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
Cluey's Primary English learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.

Emma has experience with students with diverse learning needs and supported children through remote learning in 2021. Through her experience, Emma has gained insight into how children learn, the importance of forming positive relationships with students, and the Australian Curriculum.

Stephen is a qualified, accredited Teacher, completing his Diploma in Teaching in 1978. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Diploma of TESOL. He has experience as a Casual Relief Teacher and as a Classroom Teacher with Primary School students. Between 1999 to 2007 he worked as a Tutor, encouraging the development of Numeracy and Literacy skills in Primary and High School students. Since 2019 he has been working as a TESOL Trainer. Stephen is passionate about engaging and empowering his students and nurturing a love of learning.

She has 20 years of experience in the education section, including experience in Out of School Hours Care, Child Care Centres and teaching as a Primary Teacher. Paula's experience includes students with special needs. Paula is confident to actively engage her students in rich learning experiences through the use of a variety of effective teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.

She has worked as a Casual Children's Services Employee in Outside of School Hours Care and has been working as a Primary Teacher since 2017. She has also worked with students with diverse learning needs included academically outstanding students. Sally is a motivated Tutor who is friendly and approachable.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.
Session breakdown
First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)
- Review previous session's assigned practice (if subsequent session)
- Set session learning goals
45 Minutes
During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
- Tutor demonstrates, guides and explains concepts
- Work through any challenges
- Students are encouraged to explain their thinking to clarify their comprehension
Closing 5 Minutes
Reflection and looking ahead
- Reflect on what has been achieved in the session
